I first met Roy Strickland online as a Facebook friend. I read an excerpt from one of his stories he had posted and I realized that we had a lot in common. Roy mentioned that it was part of his “Disappearing Memories of Yesterday” collection of stories about growing up in Tallahassee. So I asked Roy if I could read the rest of it. The next day a hard copy of it arrived by priority mail at my home. After reading it I realized that he needed a better way to share his collection of stories so that others could enjoy reading them as well. All of these stories have been published in the Tallahassee Democrat at different times and some of it has been posted on Facebook. But I wanted to put all of it in a more permanent location on the Internet. So together we created this web site in January of 2016 and a friendship that went beyond Facebook began. Sadly Roy passed away May 21, 2018 at age 89. He was a good man and will be missed.
